Twin pastors link hunting to Genesis stewardship on October 11

Twin pastors Chad Hampton and James Hampton of Michigan said on Oct. 11 that hunting reflects humanity’s biblical duty to steward the earth, citing Genesis 1:26 during a Fox News interview.

The brothers, founders of Huntin’ the Truth Ministries, explained that God gave people “food to manage and also consume so that we can be what He’s created us to be,” adding, “We’re managing God’s creation that He gave to us.” They pointed to the Genesis passage that declares humans are made in God’s image to rule over fish, birds, livestock and wild animals.

Huntin’ the Truth Ministries frames hunting as a tool for restoration and spiritual growth. Its mission statement declares the organization’s purpose is “to create and restore relationships with Jesus Christ through hunting and the outdoors.” The ministry runs guided hunts for physically challenged men, youth lacking a father figure, and others seeking mentorship, and it assists other groups in establishing their own outdoor ministries.

Both brothers graduated from Rochester Christian University and now pastor churches in Michigan. They host an outdoor show called “Twin Factor” and have published a devotional titled “100 Days of Strength for Hunters,” which blends Scripture, hunting stories, practical applications and prayer for readers to carry into the field.

The pastors say their approach resonates with a broader national conversation about knowing where food comes from and the health benefits of game meat. They stress that every animal they harvest is eaten, linking personal responsibility, faith, and nutrition.

As hunting season progresses, the Hamptons plan to continue offering guided trips and promoting their ministry’s message of stewardship, underscoring their belief that managing creation is both a spiritual and practical calling.
