Karoline Leavitt to join Fox News as on‑air contributor starting Nov. 1, 2026
Fox News announced on Oct. 5, 2026 that former White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt will join the network as an on‑air contributor beginning Nov. 1, 2026.
The hire places Leavitt, who stepped down from the White House in August to spend more time with her two young children, on a platform where she will appear across news and opinion programming. Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said the move brings a “distinct understanding of today’s political landscape” to the network’s audience.
“Karoline’s firsthand experience in the White House and on the presidential campaign trail gives her a distinct understanding of today’s political landscape,” Scott said. “We look forward to her providing our audience with authentic and sharp insight across all Fox News Media platforms.”
Leavitt expressed gratitude for the opportunity, noting she will continue to serve as a vocal supporter of President Donald Trump while contributing her perspective to Fox’s news outlets. Her departure from the White House was framed as a family‑first decision, with Leavitt stating she could not be the mother her children deserve while meeting the demanding schedule of the press secretary role.
The appointment adds to a pattern of former Trump administration officials transitioning to Fox News. Past contributors include former press secretaries Dana Perino and Kayleigh McEnany, as well as other Trump‑aligned advisers who have taken roles at the network after leaving government service.
Leavitt’s contract as an on‑air contributor is described as a part‑time arrangement that allows her to maintain a public presence without a full‑time staff commitment. The network expects her to provide analysis that reflects her experience in the West Wing and on the campaign trail, reinforcing Fox News’ focus on political commentary from insiders.
